    William Owens, Jr., a native of Canada West, was born Jan. 3, 1853.  In 1854 his father, William Owens, moved tot he town of York, where he has, until recently, been engaged in farming.  He now lives in the village of Postville.  William Owen, Jr., was married May 10, 1875, to Mrs. Martha J. Byrnes.  They have four children--Ernest E., Frederick L., Oliver Garfield and Lillie.  Mrs. Owens' first husband, James Byrnes, came from Canada in 1851, and settled on section 13, of the town of York.  He died Aug. 30, 1869, leaving four children--William J., Mary J., George and Emma.  Mr. and Mrs. Owens reside upon the homestead of Mrs. Owens' first husband, which contains 300 acres of valuable land.  Mr. Owens is postmaster of Bem postoffice which is kept at his residence. . .
