Melody Kay Smith

     Melody Kay Smith, 40, of Richland Center, passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 1993, at The Richland Hospital following a long and  courageous battle with cancer.
     She was born on Sept. 20, 1952, at The Richland Hospital, the daughter of Harold and Elaine (Martin) Lettman.
     Survivors include a daughter, Tammy Smith and fiance (Eric Scholl) of Sextonville; two sons, Jason Smith and fiance (Michelle LeVake) and Robert Harrison, both of Richland Center; five grandsons; her parents, Harold and Elaine Lettman of Richland Center; two brothers, Gary (Connie) Lettman of Bloom City and Richard (Kathy) Lettman Lake Whales, Fla.; two sisters, Peggy Hanavold and fiance (Dave Myers) of Madison, Pamela (Rick) Schmelzer of Sun Prairie; her grandmother, Lorena Lettman of Richland Center; 15 nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, John Harrison of Richland Center.
     Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 9, at 2 p.m. at the Stafford Funeral Home in Richland Center.  Rev. Gerald Augustine will officiate with burial in the Richland Center Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 8, at the funeral home from 4:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. and on Friday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.  The Stafford Funeral Home of Richland Center assisted the family with the arrangements.  Memorials may be made to the Richland Hospice Foundation.
